Akai Mono at Spiral, Tokyo

Matti Pikkujämsä and Jenni Rope bring their fifth joint exhibition, Akai Mono (Red Things), to Spiral Garden in Tokyo. The showcase pairs a large-scale textile installation with a new series of smaller works on paper, canvas and wood. Embracing a natural, hands-on approach, the artists created the pieces using a mix of traditional printing methods, including serigraphy, linocut, mono print, and stenciling. The resulting collection shifts between soft, quiet tones and bright, energetic shades, highlighting the diverse emotional moods that a single color can express.
